Sean is an award winning artist who received his MFA from Pratt Institute. He teaches painting at the University of Vermont, and conducts popular workshops throughout North America. His work has appeared in The Artist Magazine, Pastel Artist International, International Artist, and The Pastel Journal. He is a member of the Pastel Society of America, the Vermont Pastel Society (founder), and has judged several important exhibitions. His works hang in many private and corporate collections as well as commercial galleries. He has authored two books: Painting with Water Soluble Oils (North Light, 2001), and The Mixed-Media Sourcebook (Watson-Guptill, 2005). Sean’s work also appears in Painting the Elements: Weather Effects in Oil, Acrylic and Watercolor (North Light). He has also released several DVDs, including Palette Knife Landscape (2005), Sean Dye’s East Steps to Oil Painting (2009).
